John
Beaty has many years experience in logistics operations in both
the military and commercial areas. Following his military career
in which he held senior appointments in purchasing, inventory management,
warehousing and logistics planning in the British Army, he worked
for eight years for Coles Myer in distribution management, logistics
planning and purchasing. In 1989 he formed his own logistics consulting
company and has assisted a wide variety of organisations to improve
their logistics operations. His consulting clients include companies
in manufacturing, retailing, distribution and the public service.
John
also works as a logistics lecturer at RMIT University teaching both
undergraduate & post graduate students, and has led logistics
seminars and workshops throughout Australia, New Zealand, South
Africa, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and Hong Kong.
His training clients include AIM, BLEC, Singapore Institute of Management
and Centre for Management Development. He has conducted internal
training courses for a number of multi national companies. |

Prior
to becoming a founding partner of BFG Consulting Group, Kevin worked
for Shell Australia in plastics, chemicals and packaging, in market
development and market research of the fibre, film, twine and carpet
backing markets for a new polymer polypropylene and on technical
and economic evaluations of chemical products and processes, cost
reduction, financial analysis and reporting to improve the profitability
of the petrochemical business.
In
business development roles he established and managed a commercial
group to work with key manufacturing companies developing business
strategies, marketing plans, financial analysis and export market
planning to improve their profitability and export performance and
with SME's to form business networks for export. His regional development
activities include working with Development Committees and Councils
to market their regions, develop their infrastructure and industries
eg developing an aquaculture industry for regional Victoria. He
also worked with research institutions as Chairman of an Advanced
Manufacturing Working Group developing and implementing a business/marketing
plan to increase the market for contract research and grow technology
businesses by establishing a technology business incubator at the
Latrobe R&D Park.
His
consulting activities with BFG Consulting Group have been involved
in supply chain projects within Manufacturing Industry and the commercialisation
of new technologies. The latter includes market research and the
development of marketing plans for technologies in Human Movement,
Post Harvesting of Grain and CSIRO Boron Specialty Chemicals. These
studies resulted in their commercialisation and the establishment
of two new business ventures. The supply chain projects include
inventory management, purchasing and distribution, audits to analyse and map information and material flows, analysis
of value adding/non value adding activities to reduce cost and
improve customer service through e.business, co-ordinating an automatic
weighbridge operation integration with SAP and the implemenation
of transactional e.business activities between customer, manufacturer
and transport company.
Kevin has also lectured for several years at RMIT in strategic planning and risk management and was project manager/manager in developing the air quality policy and implementation program for Victoria. This program was the first of its kind in Australia and resulted in substantial improvements to the air quality of Melbourne.

Jeremy
is a founding Partner of BFG Consulting Group. He has been involved
in Supply Chain projects within the manufacturing Industry and International
Market Research for CSIRO Molecular Science. The latter involved
preparing a communication package in English & Japanese and
a questionnaire to determine Pharmaceutical R&D interest in
a new chemical; the significant International response has since
lead to commercialisation of the chemical.
Supply
Chain projects have included inventory management, demand forecasting
and introducing the Sales & Operations Planning process, investigating
best of breed warehouse management systems for ERP integration and
audits of supply chains mapping paper, information & material
flows and producing value adding/ non value adding analyses. Cost/benefit
analyses have ensured the group's continued involvement to implement
their recommendations.
He
previously gained wide ranging commercial experience through 30 years
in sales and marketing roles transfering technology across country centres, with the multinational Air Products
and Chemicals-in the UK and South Africa- and Air Liquide &
DuPont in Australia. He gained experience in market analysis and
product/process development, economic and feasibility studies to
justify changing operations and financial analysis of major enterprises
through the role of Financial Controller with Air Liquide.
He
improved business' effectiveness through the introduction of new
processes in industrial markets covering food, glass and plastics,
metals, chemicals, and the mining indistry. Improvements were achieved based on cost/benefit
analysis models developed for specific industries. He was instrumental
in assisting the Federal EPA to introduce an effective replacement
program for CFCs in air conditioning & refrigeration systems.
